Cancellation Charges

Whenever we book things like airline tickets or tickets to the theatre, we generally check for a cancellation and refund policy. While there is not always a refund if you cancel your tickets for some reason, it is nice to know we won’t have to pay for our tickets if we suddenly get sick or an emergency keeps us from the theatre.

However, some companies have very large overheads and running costs and can not afford to give refunds, no matter what the cancellation reason. These types of companies include limo hire companies as their vehicles are very expensive to buy and pay off and their chauffeurs need to have work and be out on the road, not waiting around in the garage.

While the limo hire companies are not always in a position to give a refund for cancelled limo hire, they are willing to take each person case by case. For example, if there was a genuine emergency in your family which meant you had to rush to the hospital and couldn’t make it to your special dinner celebration, most limo hire companies will understand.

However, while the limo hire company understands your situation, they may still be unwilling to give your money back. Most will however, offer you a credit or a gift certificate so you can use your limo hire at another time when you are ready.

Other limo hire companies will simply keep your deposit and not expect you to pay for the rest of the limo hire. Usually when you book a limousine, you pay a deposit at the time of signing the contract. The deposit is not only to guarantee that the limousine is yours for when you have booked it, it is also security for the limo hire company to ensure you turn up.

So while most limo hire companies will go out of their way to help you and make sure your night is perfect, they still have a business to run and can’t afford to have their passengers cancelling on them.
