Hummers Out of Control
Many people hire Hummer limousines because they look tough, strong and powerful and because they are sure to get you noticed as you cruise the streets. However, a 20 year old Toronto woman was not content to sit back and relax for a relaxing limousine ride, in fact she hadn’t even hired the limousine she went on to steal. Instead she put the Hummer’s size and power to the test in going on a rampage down a Toronto street and leaving a trail of destruction behind her.
The woman was able to make off with the Hummer limousine when the chauffeur stopped for a bathroom break and left his limousine idling and his passengers inside at around 1 am. The woman first tried to hitch a ride with the passengers but when they tried to stop her she got behind the wheel. Luckily it was then that the passengers jumped out of the Hummer.
Witnesses of the Hummer limo’s destruction saw the woman take the SUV for a joy ride, saw her strike a pedestrian, a house, a hydro pole and three other vehicles before finally coming to a stop at an adjoining street. So while she was able to put the size, power and presence to good use in her destructive state of mind, the fact that a Hummer limousine is always going to turn heads is only increased when it is being driven by someone who is not in control of it.
The woman has now been charged with six counts of failing to remain at the scene of an accident, driving without a license, dangerous driving, theft of over $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
