HUMMER H4 - New for 2008-2009...

Welcome to the latest Hummer news about the Hummer H4. Don't worry , the Hummer H4 hasn't been stretched (yet) as a limousine.

A GM source confirms the company is looking for ways of making a small Hummer on its various SUV (sport utility vehicle) and pickup platforms. General Motors' engineers and designers are working on the project, but a chassis for the vehicle has yet to be selected. One possibility is a two-seater, focused on the most rugged off-roading possible, similar to the Hummer dune buggy illustrated earlier this year.

The Hummer H4 or HX is a proposed SUV reportedly in development by the General Motors Hummer Division. GM may have a finished model to introduce to the market in 2008/09. It is expected to compete against the Jeep Wrangler for market share. The development on new Hummer models so far has been towards SUV's that are more suitable for city traffic, a development which culminated in the Hummer H3. However, the H4 is likely to be more basic, and the focus is once again on off-road ability. Scheduled to be shown and the North American International Auto Show in 2008.
